Orizaba and Jalapa

The state of Veracruz bordering the Gulf of Mexico is rich in bromeliad vegetation. Some species from the region near the volcano Pico de Orizaba - in the distance, as seen from the cemetary of the town - are pictured here. The thumbnail is Tillandsia streptophylla, a beautiful species with often curled leaves, although not distinctly present with the specimen on the photo. The other species, in red and greenyellow, is Tillandsia malzinei.

Near the town of Jalapa in the Parque Ecólogico Macuiltépetl a Catopsis and also in this region Pitcairnia imbricata.

Below: Tillandsia cf. tricolor & Tillandsia gladioliflora and Tillandsia deppeana.
